Choose the Correct Nevada Office

Nevada has no single office for every release. The right contact depends on whether the event came from a county or city jail, NDOC, parole, community supervision, federal custody, or immigration detention. Transitional housing and conservation or work camps can remain correctional placements, so visible community activity does not establish discharge. Use the agency that created the movement or decision record.

• NDOC offender or release information: Nevada Department of Corrections Family Services, 775-977-5707. For an offender-record inquiry, email omdrecords@doc.nv.gov or write Nevada Department of Corrections, P.O. Box 7011, Carson City, NV 89702.
• NDOC public records: send the official form or email publicrecords@doc.nv.gov. The Public Information Officer is at 5500 Snyder Avenue, Carson City, NV 89701; phone 775-977-5649. Published inspection hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Parole decisions: use the Nevada Board of Parole Commissioners for hearing schedules, actions, and decision records.
• Parole or probation supervision: use the Nevada State Police Division of Parole and Probation office directory. The published statewide number is 775-684-2600, and disclosure can be limited by law.
• County or municipal jail release: select the responsible jurisdiction in the County Directory. A local custodian, not NDOC, keeps that jail’s release or transfer entry.
• Facility-specific routing: find the jail, prison, transitional site, or historical facility in the Facility Directory.
• Federal or immigration custody: use the Bureau of Prisons locator for a federal sentence or the ICE detainee locator for immigration detention.

The Nevada release-record overview explains how to identify the correct layer before contacting an office. Provide the person’s full name, agency identifier when known, facility, and a narrow date range. Do not send a Social Security number through this site.
